Ministry of Discipleship
The Ministry of Discipleship embraces each member by identifying and using the church attendees' spiritual gifts to enhance the body's growth. The ministry members work with the pastor to welcome new members and integrate them into the life of the congregation; visit ill, shut-in, and distressed members; implement leadership activities to encourage discipleship and Christian living; and encourage small group organization to facilitate community in the church.
This ministry organizes or implements visits to shut-ins and hospitalized persons, church prayer chain, mentoring for new Christians, writing Topics articles about new members, assisting baptismal candidates, sending notes to visitors, providing cookie packages for visitors, keeping the church roll updated, and sponsoring the church directory.
